First Week at UCSB

As we all know, freshmen begin moving in this Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20. So what exactly happens during the time gap between move-in day and the first day of classes on the 24th? I know there's some New Student Convocation or something like that, but really.. what happens? Are there various activities planned out? I know at Cal Poly SLO there are events such as kayaking and bonfires and other fun stuff. What happens at UCSB?

Thanks :)

I guess they put up the activities already

Well, we’ll have kayaking too (among other things), just if you’re wondering.

The student government for the residence halls (RHA) puts on the “Week of Welcome,” and you’ll get a calendar with all the stuff that there is to do. Our events start on the Saturday the 19th and go until Sunday the 27th. Some sports teams also have games before the quarter starts, so you can go to those too.
