First week...Do they matter?

<p>I am 2nd year student, and I was wondering first week matters or not.
Last year, I didn't go to my first week, but everything worked out fine.</p>

<p>This time though, I am wailisted for a course, with limit of 50, and 22 enrolled with about 40 people on waitlist...manual waitlist.</p>

<p>I don't think I can go to Berkeley by tmw, so I am taking chances though.
Does anyone know going to first week matters?? I am trying to go to 2nd class(next monday) to get a code or something instead of going tommorow on Thursday.
I emailed the proff but she has not responded yet.</p>

<p>rule of thumb is that the first two sections should be attended unless you want to get dropped</p>
