First year answering questions

I am a first year engineering major who lives on campus at UC Riverside. I am qualified to answer questions related to the post-acceptance process, as well as questions regarding on campus life and some course work questions.

Post a question below, and I will answer it.

What is the minimum GAP and SAT to be accepted into UCR, engineering or computer.sc major? How competitive is it?

@Abra123: Minimum GPA for all UC’s is a UC GPA of 3.0 for in-state applicants and 3.4 for out of state or International applicants. There is no minimum for SAT but to be competitive for Engineering and CS, you want to be above the average GPA and SAT/ACT scores for the campus.

2015 Freshman profile:
UC GPA: 3.76
ACT: 26
SAT: 1746 total (Math+CR: 1170)

Also would like to add that you should take the SAT subject tests such as Math 2 and Physics and/or Chemistry. These are recommendations for the Bourne College of Engineering.

Hi, I made a post, but didn’t get any responses, so I’ll ask you. Son accepted so far to San Jose State, plus received the “likely letter,” or whatever that was, from UCR. He wants to study ME. Any comments about the ME department at UC Riverside, i.e., quality of professors, class size, labs, ability to do undergrad research, ease of getting classes, etc?
Of course, the school website says everything’s great. But I would love to hear from actual students at the university.
