first year college students

Hi. I was wondering whether any freshmen in colleges are having a difficult time adjusting to their new environment. So far, it has been 2 and a half month at the university I'm currently at, but I have no real friends. I talk to few of the classmates and stuff but it's basically just talking about work and stuff. It's especially hard for me to make friends since I live off campus. Does it take a long time to get adjusted and make friends? Any advice?

I was having a really similar problem up until a few weeks ago...ive gotten a job on campus and the cliche of getting into clubs really helps...next semester im moving on campus, just because it feels like that is part of the package deal/ "experience"...good luck to you!

I've been here since the middle of August, and I am having the same problem! I have a couple of "good" friends, but the rest are still just aquantinces. Everyone says things will get better though..... I posted a thread about this (it might be on page 2 now) called "Too Late?" and lots of people posted advice and stuff.....You might wanna check it out :)

From what I can tell, commuters really have to make an extra effort to be involved, because the adjustment is hard enough on-campus when you're immersed in the college experience.
