First-year courses STRESS!! AEM TRANSFER! HELP.

I'm actually so confused at the moment! I'm entering Cornell first-year in College of HumEc but I REALLY want to transfer over to AEM. Does that mean that for my first year, I should just take all of AEM's requirements and ignore HumEc's requirements? Gaah, I'm so confused...

Also, I'm confused as to how many courses I should take per semester. How much is too much? On average, how many do students take??

Their schedule thing suggests that I take
Intro to Microeconomics
Intro to Policy Analysis
Population and Public Policy
Intro to Psychology

^ This is very PAM-oriented but, as I said, I wanted to get into AEM

On top of that, I have to take English, Writing Semiar, Phys. Ed, and probably a math. (And a bio for AEM.) That's 9 courses per semester. I actually have no idea if this is too little or too much.

Should I bother taking Psychology??

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

9 courses per semester is far too much, I’m not even sure if its allowed.

The important classes to take are your writing seminar, PE, and intro micro econ. Those classes are requirements whether you become an aem major or remain in pam. If english and math are requirements for you then I would take one of them this semester along with an intro aem course like intro to business management. 5 classes should be considered your max.

You don’t want to overwhelm yourself your first semester, especially since you should try to get as high a gpa as possible if you are trying to transfer both into a different major and a different school
