First Year Courses

Honors classes exist for those who just flat out enjoy the subject and don’t take the work as work–these are the people who will probably end up with PhDs in Physics, Math, etc…

Another thing on dropping classes… SEAS students have a RIDICULOUS amount of time to drop classes… I think it’s 10 weeks… you’d pretty much know your grade by then.

Also, Physics 1400 is ALWAYS full by the time second semester rolls around so if you’re on the borderline between 1600/1400, switch early.

there’s no point in starting with calc IV because you won’t get the ap/ib credit for whatever you did in high school unless u take calc III. calc III is really easy and really chill. good class to take first semester freshmen year.

getting into principles of econ with gulati is usually pretty difficult on ssol, but if you just show up to his class on the first day, he usually adds a decent number of people manually. most freshmen i know ended up taking his class second semester (i did) and it was still tough to get into it. i got lucky by clicking reply on ssol during registration and somehow got in, but a bunch of people got in just by showing up on the first day. believe me, the class is packed. another thing to consider is that gulati’s class is significantly more difficult than the other principles of econ sections, so if u want an easy A or even A- or B+, Gulati may not be the class for you. Musatti is considerably easier. Most of my friends ending up taking Musatti’s class.
