Hi guys, I’m an international student looking to major in Aeronautical engineering. I’ve been admitted into Purdue, CU Boulder, U Washington and WPI (also awaiting a decision from UMich). I am extremely confused as to which university to attend as I believe all of these have a good reputation for engineering. Please do let me know what you guys think. Any opinion, advice or experience shared is appreciated
All of these are accredited by ABET, so the coursework will be essentially the same. Provided the employers in your home country have no preferences, you can choose based on whatever factor(s) you feel like: Weather? Part of the country? Cost of flight school if you want to do that too?
Ask the departments at each of the places on your list where their international students find internships and jobs after graduation. How strong are their connections in countries where you have work permission? As an international student, it will be very difficult for you to find internships and nearly impossible to get a job here after graduation. Most of the US aeronautical & aerospace industry jobs require US citizenship because of the security clearances the engineers need to maintain.
