First-year Physics textbook for JHU

Hello, I would also like to know what textbook was used for first-year Physics. Does anyone know what is the NAME and EDITION of the textbook? Again, thank you!

I am interested in knowing too  I am so excited for next year !

Depends on the class. There’s Physics I and II for Physical Science Majors, Physics I for Biological Science Majors, and Classical Mechanics. Each of them uses a different book.

https://isis.jhu.edu/classes/results.aspx

If you click on the particular class, it will expand and have a link to the textbook used for that class. This list is for spring semester and some courses don’t have the books listed yet, but it will give you an idea. My son took Classical Mechanics I (Physics for Physics Majors, 105) in the fall and will be doing E&M (106) in the spring and I believe they will be using a different book in the spring than they did in the fall.

If you are interested in Classical Mechanics I, here’s the link to the course page. It says 2009 but its actually for 2010:

In Classical Mechanics, they use Halliday, Resnick, and Krane. In E&M they use Purcell’s book (I absolutely hated this book).
