For those of you who have started looking at the tentative course offerings, what first-year studies are you aiming for? Have you heard anything good about a certain one? What are you hoping that they’ll add to the offerings? I want to get a feel for some of them before we have to choose next month.
Hey, here are some of the courses that look interesting to me:
- Telling Lives: How Anthropologists narrate the world (Anthropology)
- Digital Disruptions (Computer Science)
- Cultures of Nature (Environmental Studies)
- Film as Popular Art (Film History)
- The Good Life: Individual and Community in Ancient Greek Myths (Literature)
- Memory and Autobiography (Psychology)
- Understanding Mass Media: Theories and Methods of Sociological Analysis (Sociology)
- The Form of the Essay (Writing)
But of course I’ll still have to whittle it down to just 4, which will be hard! What about you?
I’ve heard SLC is really strong in Psychology. I’m hoping for more philosophy, economics, media studies and journalism courses!
Are you in the Facebook Sarah Lawrence College Class of 2020 group? There are others discussing all of this on there too
Thanks! I’m now in the FB group. I was wondering where everyone was. This thread seemed kinda dead
