First year- to join or not to join Frats?

Hi, I'm going to be a first year, and I've been getting some invites to rushes to Sororities and whatnot. (I'm a girl btw lol) I'm interested in joining the Phi Delta Epsilon frat but I'm worried if it is a good time for me to do that. I mean, I need time to get used to the college life, figure out how many hours in a day I have to for school, activities, dorm stuff, etc. Furthermore, if I don't rush/join this first quarter, would it be more advantageous to rush/join Spring quarter?

What's your opinion on joining to early or waiting it out to decide? Thanks!

Do all freshmen get invites? I got an invite for Theta Kappa Thi rush week so I will probably go and enjoy the food and company.

Um I got an invitation through facebook and I also signed up for that one from orientation. Yeah I’m planning to go to some rush events but I also want to know the pros and cons of joining…and what the average cost of joining one is.
