First Year vs Transfer

If I decide to attend college in Fall 2015, and I want to enroll at a different school in Fall 2016, can I apply as a first year student for Fall 2016? *I know this might be an awkward question, but I would appreciate if it is answered honestly

No. is the short answer.

If you attend a college this fall, you can apply to school that accept you as sophomore. some school does that some do not.

any course grade you received from first collge ( CC or regular college ) will be a big factor in letting you transfer, so buckle down and study.

Check with the school that you are trying to apply.

Someschool let you apply year around ( open enrollement)
some only accpt for fall transfer.
some let you transfer in fall and spring…

many high rankned school let you tranfer in with Gen ed. done and pre req elective done.

CHECK CHECK CHECK. with admission office of collge you trying to transfer into. check with direct source. !!! they are the only one who can give you definitive answer.

Some places will consider you to be a transfer applicant if you have taken one college course (even if that course is only 1 academic credit) after high school graduation.

Some places will consider you to be a freshman applicant if you have taken one credit less than what they consider to be a full year of college credits after high school graduation. (e.g. 29 semester hours = freshman applicant but 30 semester hours = transfer)

The rest fall between those two extremes.

This means that you have to check each place’s policies.

If you need a lot of financial aid, take a gap year instead of starting college this fall. Financial aid for transfer students is not as good as it is for freshmen.
