Does anyone know how much credit the writing seminars are worth? I can't find anywhere that says it. =/ Thanks
Jessie

3 credits, but there’s usually a lot of reading and writing, so be cautious of 3-credit courses because they might as well be 4 most of the time.

I’ll take that the FYWS is a 3-credit course is a bad thing. If it’s that much work I’d rather it be 4.

It really depends on what FWS you end up with. Some are lots of work, while some assign relatively light workloads. You never know.

Some FWS’s are insanely easy and worthy of their 3 credits or less…however, there are some like mine that was easily more work than the rest of my classes combined.

Ouch. I’m in engineering and was hoping for the FYWS to be an easy ride.

which are the easy fws classes?

Yes, tell us which of the FWS are easy. I really don’t want to waste my time with one. I’ve heard so many bad things about this whole procedure.

Please tell us the easy ones!

It’s almost impossible to say, unless someone took an easy one and can share the course title and the name of the teacher. We each only took one or two, and most students aren’t familiar with other FWS’s. Also, the courses/teachers change every semester, so there’s no guarantee that the FWS’s taught this past year will be offered again.

People will tell you that English department FWSs are more difficult… but I personally believe that’s ******** because my friends in completely different departments were struggling much more than I was. It’s completely dependent on the individual instructors and courses, which unfortunately change every year.
