Fish tank at UA dorms

I’m an incoming freshman to the University of Alabama, and would like to know what their policy is on fish tanks in dorms… It’s not a very large tank (about 2.5 gallons) and easily fits on a desk, doesn’t make a mess, and needs fairly minimal care. I wouldn’t like to abandon my two little dwarf froggies and betta fish when I head off to college :(!

From the housing contract that’s online:

Pets/Aquariums. For health and safety reasons, pets are prohibited in the residence halls with the exception of 10 gallon or smaller fish tanks. (Reasonable accommodations will be provided for persons with a disabilitywho require the use of a service animal).

Fish tanks are definitely fine. One of my roommates has a pretty big one, definitely bigger than 2.5 gallons. You’ll be ok if you bring it, no sense in abandoning your favorite pets if you can bring them along!

I think one of my son’s good friends has a Beta fish in a small bowl.
