I was accepted to Fisher College of Business under the pre-major program, and I wondering how difficult is it to get accepted into the major program under an accounting specialization? I really want to go to OSU, but my Navy scholarship is contingent upon me being able to get a degree in accounting, and I’m worried about the program admissions being too competitive. Does anyone know how competitive it is? What should I do my first year to make sure I get accepted into the major program my sophomore year?

You’ll need to keep a higher GPA, maybe around a 3.5+, in order to be a good applicant to the accounting major, and you’ll also need to be taking the business pre-requisite classes.

Accounting and Finance are supposed to be the most competitive business majors to get into, although I believe you can apply more than once if you are rejected the first time.

You can certainly email a business advisor if you want more information.
