is there any good places to fish around chapel hill? what type of fish are we talkin? i'm so pumped for the warm weather

Ummm....since Chapel Hill is in the middle of the state, you are 3 hours from fly fishing for trout in the crystal clear cold streams of the Smoky Mountains, and three hours from deep sea fishing off the coast. In between is plenty of catfish, bass and whathave you. North carolina has several man made reserviors that get stocked with typical gamefish.

I know our towns reservoirs close for fishing for a couple of months in the middle of winter. But there are plenty of local ponds and rivers to find.

ahh cool. i'd say catfish and bass would be cool in the local ponds. while i like to fish i'm not really up for driving 3 hrs all the time to geto the sea or the streams for trout. good to know. do alot of unc kids go fishing or will it just be me ?

Man. I used to LOVE fishing and would totally go with you, but I recently became a vegetarian and with that quit fishing. Where were you a year ago? I'm sure you can find some other folks who'll go fishing with you, though. You could start a club and get some retreat funding!

well the closest place to go is university lake and they have mostly bass and catfish and some bluegills. but jordan lake is much bigger and is better. they have catfish, bass, and few others. the plus for university lake is that you dont need a fishing liscense if you use live bait, whereas at jordan lake you do. but im sure you can find some people to go with. its fuc*ing north carolina.
