@kellude I have the same anxiety. It took me a few hours to get the courage to call. I usually write down what I want to say. I said something like, “Hello my name is _____ & I applied and received an application confirmation email stating that I would find out my acceptance by April 1st. I’m calling because I have not heard back yet and am wondering if it got lost in the mail or something happened with my application”. Just be as respectful as possible. I’ve experienced nothing but kindness by the admissions people, especially considering how many calls they are receiving per day. Good luck!!
Just a general FYI, the woman from admissions told me that the delay was caused by the IT downtime that lasted a week in March where they did not have access to the system for that entire week. Mix this with all of the snow days and the holidays at the end of March/Early April, they are still running behind. Decisions are still going out, according to her.
Well they told me a decision letter was sent out. I’m doubting I was accepted since they used “letter” and not “packet” D:

My son received his acceptance package today! Please do not give up hope! He applied for the Menswear program. His letter is dated 4/3 and the envelope is postmarked 4/4. His COA changed early last week. We live in PA. Best of luck to all

you can still go to FIT even if you have committed to Pratt. FIT is wayy better for Fashion design

So I just called because we have not received a decision yet. Everything was sent before Jan 1. She thought her transcript was also sent back in November but apparently it was not received. They did not get it until Feb. 20. I was told that her major(fashion business management) is already filled and they have not made a decision yet but since the major is filled and her resume is strong, they will prob put her on a wait list. They are only denying or waitlisting people now. I’m laughing right now. Thank God she wants to go elsewhere. They can stick their wait list up their ass. She is a senior and has a 4.3 gpa, 33 act and 58 college credits between AP and dual enrollment courses. She was involved in everything in highschool and even spent 2 summers at FIT taking classes. Wait list? She is over qualified.

I called FIT rn, they said they are emailing me the decision.

@lisaol took my daughter 3 times to get in. She had taken summer classes for 3 years. It’s very competitive. She came from a private HS with a high Gpa also. They don’t care. The essay is a HUGE part. So sorry she didn’t get in but I’m happy she has another option.
