FIT applicants for fall 2018

plus i cant check the financial update as an international applicant lol

Hi, I’m Olivia and I’m applying to FIT for Fall 2018 as a Fashion Design major!

FIT’s website updated today with the 2018-2019 catalog and courses for each degree: http://catalog.fitnyc.edu/undergraduate/courses/

Hey guys! I’m isha from India. I applied in November for BFA AAS and haven’t heard back yet. Did any one of you have heard back from them? (The wait is killing me.)

Hey guys.
Can someone tell me what they’re looking at on their myFIT page that’s being updated or that hints at them getting accepted?

Hey is anyone else getting a page that tells them they’re trying to enter the FIT Application for Internal Bachelors Degree when they click on Application Status? This never appeared before

@EricCarson26 yep

Mine’s doing that as well.

mine’s too. cant wait!!

Hey guys !
Actually I did some digging and turns out that it’s just a new update in the portal and there is some technical glitch . And if just in case you guys are unable to view your application status just go to “my financial aid checklist” in the “Financial aid resources” , then turn to “application status” link and access will be restored.
P.s : It worked for me and for further details for the same go to “MYFIT FAQ” on the right corner on your portal and you’ll see there a few questions on the top , one of them being “my application status error”.
Or just click on this link http://it.fitnyc.edu/2018/03/05/mar-3-application-status-secondary-sign/
Hope this helps.

Cost of attendance UPDATED

Where do you check COA?

@EricCarson26 Click on overall financial aid status :slight_smile:

So I’ve looked at past threads and It seems that your COA updating is a good sign? Lol not sure

This is all I get when I click on overall Finanical Aid Status. “Based on your academic transcript, the status of your academic progress is NOT YET REVIEWED as of FALL 2018.”

I’m assuming this just means my application hasn’t been reviewed?

You don’t think me not filing for FAFSA is an issue right? My parents said I wouldn’t have qualified for financial aid and by the time I had gotten any time to fill out my FAFSA forms the due date was basically the next day and everything was too chaotic to fill it out. Now i’m worried like because I didn’t fill out FAFSA I won’t be accepted or something because of it.

@EricCarson26 From what I’ve heard, that part (the NOT YET REVIEWED) shouldn’t change until after you’ve been accepted and sent in the tuition deposit. It’s just an indicator as a new student of where you’re at (like if you’ve taken a ton of AP tests, you’ll be a semester ahead and so that would say it).

Not filing for FAFSA won’t affect admission. It just means you can’t get any financial aid at all now (so no loans) from the school or government, so you’ll have to get private loans w/ interest or pay tuition upfront to attend. Admissions and financial aid are two separate cases.

@shakuton
Well that’s reassuring!

So I wouldn’t need to fill out FAFSA to see a COA update? I’m gonna go back and look i’m probably clicking on the wrong thing.

I didn’t fill out fasfa either. A lot of people who didn’t can’t see COA. I can only see what you see as well so don’t worry about it.

Financial Aid is a separate office so your cost of attendance shouldn’t be effected. Everyone’s says Pending or not yet reviewed. According to past threads those whose COA shown was an indication of acceptance no one has ever had theirs change and not get accepted as said in passed threads…

Also why didnt you guys fill out FAFSA ?
