Would a somewhat quiet student who likes athletics and doesn't party fit in at Wes? Serious about studies but also wants to develop a group of good friends. Was a little intimidated by the activist/party vibes on a visit there. Nothing wrong with it at all, but it's not exactly my thing and just wondering whether it's a strongly prevalent force on campus.

Hey offcampus! As a current student at Wesleyan, I would say that you’d definitely fit in at Wes! There are plenty of people who prefer a chill movie night over a rager (myself included), and students here as a whole are DEFINITELY serious about studying.

Sure, there are also students who are very into activism and students who are very into partying, but you’ll find that at any college (and it’s definitely NOT the vast majority of people here!).

If you have more specific questions about Wesleyan activism/“party culture”, don’t hesitate to ask!
