Hi everyone! I wanted to create this thread for everyone applying to the Fashion Institute of Technology for the fall 2016 term. A little about myself - I applied to FIT into the Advertising & Marketing Communications program around October 30th! I’m from Northern NY, about an hour from the city. This thread is for anyone as excited for the application results as I am and just a place to chat!
I have applied for Fashion Business Management for fall 2016! I am from Michigan and I am super excited and nervous to find out!! I love New York so much I went there for spring break my junior year so hoping I can return and attend FIT!!
I’m super nervous/excited too! It would be a dream to be able to attend FIT! I don’t think we’ll be hearing back from admissions until mid-March to early April which makes me super anxious but it’ll be worth the wait! 
Question for any applicant: I have applied for FBM 2016 back in October and on MyFIT it shows that I want to be part time Eve/Weekend but I want to be a full time student??? Do I need to submit a request form or does someone else say this for FBM?? I just don’t want it to affect my chances 
I applied for the Illustration program on November 12th I wonder when people who applied early will get their letters
I think you should definitely submit a request form. It won’t affect your chances, in fact, it may show Admissions that you’ve been checking up on your application and they like to see that you’re up to date on your application process. If you don’t submit a request form, it may be difficult to change your part time status to full time status later. Best of luck
@jack823 , Fall applicants usually don’t hear back from FIT until March or April, according to many other threads

Same! I had sooooo many people look over my essay and I worked really hard on it, I hope it’ll all work out! I;m sure your portfolio is great and will definitely win over admissions

I applied in early october! I applied to their AMC program! I am super nervous!! It’s my number one choice and I am dying to find out if I got in!
I applied on August 1st to AMC and am super nervous! I think I’ll be okay because I spent six months on my essay, my GPA is a 3.8 and my test scores are good (even though they don’t take part in the admissions decision). I wish everybody luck!

Does anyone else’s say freshman advance standing? What does this mean??
I applied August first and had everything turned in by September 1st. I applied for Advertising and Marketing communications. I’m from St. Louis, and FIT has been my dream school my whole life. I have been coming to New York since I was 3! Can’t WAIT to hear back. :-*
It asks on your application if you’ve taken any AP/honors classes that would give you credits in college. If yes, then it’ll say freshman advanced standing.
I don’t have any updates on my application status either. Also, “freshman advanced standing” means that you’ve taken enough college credits in high school to potentially graduate early. It’s on my application too!
has anyone gotten the FIT financial aid pamphlet yet? I got one this morning
