@Taylora5467 I’ve never been asked for financial aid documents from a school that planned on rejecting me. These schools get so many applications that they’re not going to waste their time asking for financial documents from kids they’re going to reject anyways. Getting financial aid information figured out before you’re going to accept an applicant would be a very backwards application process, and very unproductive time-wise. Your COA will change, but some people’s portals are slower to update than other’s.
@Pankobreading My need calculation does show up. I have everything that’s available to look at – classes for fall '17, COA, financial aid information/status.
They were closed because of the snow storm, so we might hear back even later now, I just need that packet physically in my hands :-S
@Virgo25AD I hope so. I’m just nervous ,because this is my only option. Plus it’s my dream school.
I got a letter/e-mail about needing additional documents for financial aid back in January…
interesting… @Larriealumni makes me nervous slightly. lol
I took @Virgo25AD advice and scanned the last 5 pages of the Fall 2016 admissions forum.
Me too they asked me for financial aid papers wayyyy back I think like dec or Jan…
lol am I the only one even can’t access site map
@lilianli I couldn’t access my site map until they received my fasfa in early March
Omg my cost of attendance changed today to 31,000!!!
I have the site map but my coa is still 0 but how would they know my coa if I haven’t even sent the papers yet…
@creepyandcute13 Your cost of attendance is based on where you live, academic standing (whether you’re going for associates or bachelor’s and your admittance to the school usually), so your need-based aid has nothing to do with it. It stays at zero when they haven’t made a decision on you as an applicant yet, or some people’s is just slow to update. The papers they want from you, those just help determine how much financial aid you’d get towards your coast of attendance.
Oh ok thanks
Does anyone know if they’re usually slower with transfers since they might wait for current semester grades etc
I am a transfer, photography!
@Justbrandee36 hey me too you should join this group I created on fb for transfers https://www.facebook.com/groups/1743702135941071/
Hello everyone I would like to invite any prospective transfer students join this group created on fb where we can all interact https://www.facebook.com/groups/1743702135941071/.
@creepyandcute13 it doesn’t open a page, whats the the name of the group?
Hi guys!! Just stumbled across this blog as I was stress searching about when I’d get my decision from FIT. I found that some people in the past heard back on March 18th so I’m now stressing out more…
We should be starting to see people get letters within the coming coming week, I’d imagine. By the way, for those doubting that your cost of attendance changing means anything, last year’s forum had students who used usernames on here that were their actual names. You can just google the name and FIT, and they all got accepted after the COA changing. Boom
