@Riri54 DS2 did not apply to the Honors program.
Do they delete your myfit account if you’re rejected ??
I didn’t apply to the Honors Program so I dont think there’s a correlation there! However, I already have a Bachelors degree from a 4 year university so my situation may not be similar to people who are entering college for the first time

@Hilonokaoi Thanks for the reply…did he submit test scores along with his application? Curious what the criteria are for “outstanding applicant”? On your MyFIT portal, other than a change in COA, was there detailed Financial Aid info or just acknowledgement of an Initial Review? Thanks for all the info…trying to sleuth here for my daughter!!
@chloedechambeau what did you apply for? I’m still waiting on mine. mines hasn’t even been reviewed yet. When did you apply though?
@Riri54 You’re very welcome. Happy to help! DS2 said he did submit his ACT score, and his application had “Freshman Advance Standing” under Admission Type. He also said “Final Financial Aid Review” noted “Waiting for final approval” until yesterday, when that changed to “Award available pending admission.” Today, that has changed to “Financial Aid package available in April.” Everything else on his portal has remained the same. I hope this helps some!
SO did his COA change as well? Or just the language on his Financial Aid?

This is very helpful…what you are describing does imply that a Financial Aid review really does not mean one has been accepted since your son saw “Award available pending admission.” I am surprised though that they would take the time to review the Financial situation of each applicant, even those who are not being admitted. That does seem to be quite a bit of time to invest for nothing…I guess the bottom line is that we can not really read into anything and until we get the letter in the mail, we really don’t know!! As a mom, the wait is excruciating…
@Riri54 I hear ya!! I too am a mom and hate seeing my daughter rush to the mailbox everyday! The waiting is so hard!
His COA was already there when he first checked about two week ago.
@Riri54 Yes, totally understand! The admissions process is soooo grueling!! I went through this with DS1 three years ago, and am thankful this last go-around is it for me!!! Hang in there, and keep believing…

@chloedechambeau I applied in mid January, kind of late. I did Fashion Business AAS 2Yr. You applied early , that’s great!
@Hilonokaoi Last go-around for me too!! This child hopefully will get in to FIT, her twin brother already decided, and the older sister graduates from college next year…SO glad this is it for us.

Hi guys! I’m a student at FIT right now and I wanted to tell you guys to be positive!! The first time I applied for Fall 2015 I was rejected and then I applied as a transfer for Fall 2016 and got in. If you get rejected, DO NOT let that stop you from trying again. Don’t give up! Good luck!! By the way, I received my letter March 25 so any day now!
