FIT Fall 2019

Hey guys…no response yet! If I don’t hear back by tomorrow (apr 1) do I just keep waiting or should I call them?

@realalecmartin you should wait until at least Friday. I’m gonna call them again if I don’t get anything by then. Good Luck!!!

Okay, thank you!’ And you too, hope you get in!

My daughter and the entire family have been waiting also. I’ve been reading this chat for 6 days and the conclusion is that FIT will send the responses on the 1st and we well get the letter sometime during the week. A few have gotten their acceptance but it is a small number. There are some hints on tab 23 and forward. There are two people whose financial aid information (4) changed from “pending admission” to “information available in April”. At least one of those two people got their letter of acceptance on Saturday. So, if I were you, I would check it out. My daughter does not want to check this since she does not want false hopes. I disagree with her so we are biting our nails everytime we see the mail truck. I hope this help

@visitingstdfall19 march 23rd.

@stacydessa nop, mine was sent by UPS.

For those who have been accepted (congrats!) have you received an email as well?

No email for my daughter. The large envelope was received in the mail on March 25.

Here’s D’s timeline so far (as far as MyFit shows)

March 25 COA updated
March 26 Initial financial aid review marked “completed”
March 28 “Final Financial Aid Package Available in April” posted

No mail yet. Have not shared these updates with D … it’s bad enough that I’m making myself crazy, no need to put the added stress on her  She’s been waiting since January…a few more days of being in the dark seems better than giving her something that “might” be good news.

Here’s hoping big envelopes arrive in many mailboxes this week!

@realalecmartin you should wait until at least Thursday (April 4th) before contacting FIT.

does anyone know if gpa is really important for admission? when i graduated high school i had an awful gpa (2.8) but after 4 semesters of college it went up (3.4). would my high school gpa hurt me?

@kmalin So on their website in the admissions FAQs they want to see a strong B average. So basically anything from a 3.3 and up. But people have gotten in with worse GPAs in the past because their portfolios/extracurriculars/essays have been what FIT is looking for

I just got an e-mail, I’ve been accepted!

I’m in!!! I got an email!

I am transferring ! Oh nooo that doesn’t sounds good…

Oooh for the people who got emails, where are you guys from?? And are you guys transfers or freshmen or…? @stacydessa @misung2056 and congrats!!! Can you guys view the financial aid package online now?

@Kpopchicken hey, I’m an international applicant from Korea, but right now I’m in America. I will be a freshman and I can’t find the financial aid package thank you  BTW, I applied to FBM

Hey everyone! Just wanted to swing by and congratulate everyone whom has heard back, and provide moral support for those whom have not. You can do it, keep holding on! \(`0´)/

@Kpopchicken I’m from India, freshman. I didn’t apply for financial aid though so I
think @misung2056 can help you with that but thanks!

Hey everyone, a change that might be new in my daughter’s account. There is a FITNYC.EDU email address in the portal. If you go Site Map → View Email Addresses mail Addresses → F.I.T. Student E-mail Code
You’ll see it. Not sure if that was always there or not.
