Hi! I'm a prospective international student (from New Delhi, India) to FIT's AAS in Advertising and Marketing Communications. As it is too expensive to do AAS+ Bachelor's for 4 years in NY (there's no aid for international students as it's a State school), I plan on doing a bachelor's degree either in India or Singapore (4 or 3 years respectively) and then applying for the AAS at FIT.

I talked with their admissions office and apparently, if I do a bachelor's anywhere outside of the US, it only counts as an AAS to FIT so I can apply to transfer my credits and join the Bachelor's but it's TOO complicated with their whole "regionally accredited transfers" business. So I'm thinking it'll be easier to just do the AAS and then be done.

My questions: Is this detrimental to my career? I want to work in fashion PR.
How hard is to get into FIT for communications? I've heard lots of about their merchandising (FMM) and design courses and how they're fairly competitive to get into but not much about the communications one. Any ideas?

And help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
