<p>Hi, I've started apps for FIT for Fashion Merchandising, but have consideed applying to Parsons as well for their Design and Management course. Any tips on which is better in terms of education, people, and for becoming a fashion buyer? Thanks!</p>
<p>I dont know too much---both are pretty similar in terms of quality of education; Parsons is WAYYY more expensive, but I have heard of FIT that there are a billion fashion merch majors and so theres lots of competition, not ot get in, but once you're in for internships/jobs, etc. Moreso in FIT than Parson you get girls who aren't really interested in the fashion business/fashion design going there just because they like shopping or something....you're gonna need more than that to be successful at either college. </p>

<p>If you're interested in merchandising, go to FIT. Most would agree that Parsons is more "artsy" and FIT is more practical. FIT is also a lot cheaper. They do have a lot of FMM majors, but it seems like a lot of them are just ditzy girls who like clothes, so they're not really competition.</p>
