Anyone apply to FIT for 2019 Spring Transfer??
I’m an international student, done with applications (I applied for Int’l Trade and Marketing) and just waiting to hear results – would love to share some information with others who are on the same boat. What major did you apply for?
@yekanny I applied for spring 2019 as a transfer student from the U.S for the major of fashion business management. I already completed my application as well, and now im just waiting for results.
I cannot wait for results to come out… does anyone know when we will be hearing back from the school?
@yekanny on the website it said admission decisions would start going out on Dec. 1st. But I did some digging around from the previous years and usually applicants start getting their letters around the last two weeks of Nov. Also, I have heard many international applicants get their letters earlier but not always… the wait is killing me!!
Do you know if your supplemental documents come in after November 1st if you can still be considered?
@ep212121 Yes, you can still be considered but it is better to get all the supplemental materials in before the deadline to get priority consideration for whatever program you apply. Also if you turn them in after Nov. 1 it might take longer to receive an admission decision. What major did you apply to? Are you a transfer?
Ya i’m hoping transcript research will send them in by oct 31 ahhh. Ya, i’m a transfer from Montreal. I applied for FBM! You?
@ep212121 I am a transfer from Nevada, I also applied for FBM! The wait is killing me man! What is your high school and college gpa? What did you put in your essay?
Oh thats sweet!! Hopefully we could meet if we both get in.
It’s a 3.4… idk if it’s good enough :\ you? Apparently, it’s more about the essay
My essay was pretty unique, it was more of a story of all my modelling experiences combined and how it made me more aware of the fashion industry, both the ruthlessness and greatness of it. You?
My HS gpa was 3.5 unweighted and 3.6 gpa weighted, so pretty average. In my essay I put how the fashion world impacted me, how I became inspired by fashion, why I chose the major that I applied to, and my experiences (work, fashion club, etc.) and why I want to go to FIT.
I would say your gpa puts you in good standing.
I am so terrified ! Last year I applied for fall for a different major and got rejected. I hope I can get in this time because this is my dream school. You?
Does anyone know if FBM is more competitive than AMC??
@primadonna1 hey there! dont worry…i think for spring you have a greater chance since theres less applicants? would u like to read each other essays?? im a bit worried about mine and would love a feedback!
I have heard they are both competitive!b Did you apply for FBM?
@FAILURE2LIFE Yes, I would like to read each others essays. Are you a transfer?
I’m sooo nervous… i don’t think i got in… my gpa wasnt very good in high school but in university it peaked. So hopefully they take that into consideration.
Have you heard of anyone getting in with a not so good GPA but because their essay was rly good?
@ep212121 Well, the requirements are at least 3.0 gpa. But if you have a great college gpa I do not think your high school grades will matter too much, especially if you have a killer essay.
but what if both together are under a 3.0?
Im not sure but keep in mind the majority of people that get accepted are not the people at the top of their class. I think they want to see more of a capable, well rounded individual with ambition, which you can show them that you are in your essay. From some of the research I have done there have been people with higher gpa’s getting rejected so gpa is not everything. I think as long as you show improvement since high school you will be good.
@ep212121 hey! i have the same gpa as urs as well, like mine is around a 3.4
