@primadonna1 hbu? Did you apply to other colleges?
yhea I applied to Marymount Manhattan college and another University in Pittsburg.
I was going to apply to Parsons and Pratt but quite frankly the huge cost deterred me from applying.
@primadonna1 tbh, I applied to have them as a backup if I wasnt accepted for FIT. They are very expensive. Lets just be hopeful that we all get into FIT
Do you think they’d send out rejections the same time as accepted applicants? Like receiving a rejection letter before Dec 1
@FAILURE2LIFE Last year when I was rejected, I got the letter after Dec 1.
Really? Wow so if I don’t hear anything this week I should expect that I’m already rejected
Now I’m getting really discouraged
@FAILURE2LIFE Same, but let’s just stay hopeful for now.
When you got rejected @primadonna1 last time, when did you receive your letter? Was it a few days after the deadline? Like 1-2 days later?
@FAILURE2LIFE I believe it was at the very end or past the deadline. I don’t remember quite clearly but I received it through email. Most likely it was past the deadline because I had already gotten into all the other schools I applied to.
Are you international
@FAILURE2LIFE no, I’m from California. that’s the odd part about it. I never got anything in the mail.
6 more days to go.
When I applied and was rejected last fall, I received my decision in the mail on December 9th, but I received my decision through email on the December 1st after decisions had already been out for a few days. Everyone else had received there acceptance letter about a week before. I think since letters are out now, you can probably call and request for a decision to be sent to fit email. I don’t think they send it to your personal email. That’s what I did last year when I knew decisions had been sent out.
If I am rejected, I don’t think I will apply again because I am tired of applying again, and the admissions office keep saying try again next semester. It’s a lot of money to keep applying. I have been accepted into Virginia Commonwealth University, and I actually really like the school. I know quite a few people there, and after touring both schools I felt that I liked the atmosphere of VCU more. I just felt that FIT was a more known school, and you received more opportunities.
Where do you find your fit email
@FAILURE2LIFE it should be on the right-hand corner of your myfit page. It could say email or google apps. My page is a little different since I took a class. If it says google apps, you click that then Gmail which should automatically log you in. You can just log in to Gmail with your myfit username and password, but with fitnyc.edu at the end of your username.
@silverquotes I’m considering taking non degree classes at FIT if I get rejected, do you think it’ll give me a better chance of getting in to the school if I do that? I might have to go to the admissions office if I get a rejection and see where my options are. As far as I know, I want to work in big companies for marketing especially L’Oréal and that’s ultimately why I wanted to do AMC at FIT
@FAILURE2LIFE I was told as a student applying for fashion design that the classes could help my portfolio. For Amc, I think it’s a little different since they aren’t looking at a portfolio, but an essay and gpa. I think having a good gpa, and having someone look at your essay before submitting will help, but maybe trying getting an internship doing what you want to do. I guess taking classes wouldn’t hurt, but I would ask FIT since that’s what I did.
