@Sara2700 Did you receive the letter from FIT with financial aid verification papers?
Yes @primadonna1 , do you think they want them back before acceptance letters get sent out or atleast before we start if accepted. Because I think a school can accept you and still not have all the financial documents. Idk if I’m 100% correct
Also did you receive those papers and if so did you submit them or are you going to submit after letters get sent ?
I have applied for FIT spring 2019 as well, I am an international student. Waiting On the decision. I am very very nervous. Still need to wait three more weeks to know if I am in. Just like y’all said, the wait time killing me. Even though I know I wont get any mail this early, I still check my mail box thing in the mooring. All the best to y’all too
does anyone else have the problem where it says session time out when they like site map? does this mean i’m not accepted? I also haven’t received any financial aid papers in the mail
@Sara2700 I got the papers back in early October, I found it odd that they sent them before admission decisions because all the other schools I’ve gotten into do it after. I’m sending the papers in this week, and honestly I don’t know if it matters when you send them. But whether you send them in or not shouldn’t affect your admission.
@Sara2700 Idk if getting the papers mean anything but keep in mind why would they bother sending us the papers when you can literally download the forms on your FIT portal on your own and send them in. It would be a waste of time sending them to every applicant especially if they considering rejecting them. idk maybe I’m just over analyzing haha.
@nathekat Sometimes it lets me in and other times it doesn’t. But whether you can or can’t get into the site map, it doesn’t mean that you’ve been rejected therefore don’t worry!
What is your major ? @niffler
I think @primadonn1 is right. I was not accepted before but had to do the verification process before hearing something. Not everyone has to do the verification process and fill out papers. In most cases, it’s because of the information you added on your FAFSA, but sometimes you are randomly selected. I know this because I asked my school when I kept being chosen to do a verification. I was told I kept being chosen because neither me or my mom work since we are both disabled so I had no taxable income to submit which seems weird to most colleges. If your income falls below a certain level or doesn’t match your w-2, you will be marked for verification too.
So do you think I have to send in the papers before in order to hear a feedback or can I send them after so I I at least know where I stand? In others words does it affect your application if you send it in before or after acceptance letters? @silverquotes
@Sara2700 better to send them in before because if you are accepted you will have to wait to find out your financial aid. It can take 2-3 weeks for the verification to go through, and they won’t process your financial aid award until verification is processed. They do it this way because they could give you more or less financial aid after the verification then before your information is verified and they don’t want to make an award package twice.
@silverquotes did you apply to FIT before? so you did do the verification papers even if you weren’t accepted?
@FAILURE2LIFE, I applied before wasn’t accepted, but still did the verification. When I did it, they sent out a paper that said that you could still be rejected doing the paperwork that the paperwork wasn’t decision-based.
My major is Fashion Design and am not a transfer student so I had to send a portfolio. Also I already have bachelors and masters in the field of technology and have been working for over 2 years. I am not really into technology and I am switching my career path from IT to fashion. Hope all goes well.
My cost of attendance changed to 11,620 so does that mean I got in???
I think so, how do you find cost of attendance ?@nathekat
@nathekat hey did you submit your financial aid application and/or verification papers?
Also are you a NY resident?
@Sara2700 you go into application status then click site map and then go into financial aid then click my overall status of financial aid them select aid year 2018-2019 then click submit and it’ll show you the cost of attendance
@primadonna1 I did send in my financial aid I did send it in a little late so i’m still waiting to see if I got anything I live in New Jersey!
