Fitness, Nutrition and Health- All Welcome (Hardcore and “Light”)

Today was my easy day but I did a long walk in the heat and humidity before starting in on the chores.

I wonder when MOWC will finish her trek across TN. I wish there was a way a little birdie could let us know she finished so we could cheer.

I was feeling melancholy this morning. I’ve decided for my bday next month - I never want any gifts - that I just want the kids to do something fun and send me a picture of them being happy. Thatd all I really want.

^^^^ A little birdie WILL let us know when she finishes. I think it will be very soon!

3.5 mile run this morning followed by a 1 mile walk. Humid but not too hot and a little breeze. If I get in the mood I’ll add on either a walk tonight if it stops raining or a few miles on the inside bike.

I remain rather glum.

I would w

I’m so sorry! Things are I don’t know what the word is. But 2020 stinks so much!

Still walking and running here; just a bit over 3 miles this morning. But my L achilles tendon is a little off, so I think I’ll be walking more for a couple of days.

Yes, and this t-shirt sums it up:

I drove out to the Bay today and ran the same 5-mile route as last Sunday. Then I decided to hit the gym and do a quick bench press session and also do 60 (3x20) GHD sit-ups. I didn’t spend to long at the gym (outside mostly now), but I missed BP yesterday.

I feel ya @Midwest67 - you may not want or need to share but support is here if you need it. Hugs!

Tough workout this morning. I’d rather forget about the run portion. That was tough for other reasons. But I did miss the scattered storms and got it done. We will get a break in our highs for a bit thanks to a tropical storm! The lows will still be humid and gross and nasty. I decided to repeat last week for the videos, so today was Week 3 Chest & Tris 50-50. I kept the same weights and it was still really, really hard. I did try to add 1-2 reps here and there though.

There will be better runs @ClassicMom98 !

Speaking of runs, MOWC finished her trek across Tennessee this morning!!! Woo!!!

I could change my habits of a few of these… H could change A LOT of them!!!

I have been drinking more water, getting more exercise and eating better than normal for a few months. Please explain why my blood pressure is up 40 points! The PA and doc tried three times at todays appointment - so I guess it’s not a fluke.

My blood pressure was up at my last appointment. I think I had a lot of anxiety about being in a medical office and wearing a mask. I bought a home monitor and it’s been better at home.

@threebeans yeah I’m not a doctor but I would think 3x times that day was indicative of high BP THAT DAY, but I would wonder if you took your BP on three different days what you would get? Was your doc concerned??

NICE!

I avoid going to the doctor, so I “failed” several of the things on the list. Oh well. I’m unlikely to change my ways.

I’m not out in the sun a LOT, but I rarely use sunscreen. Only when there is a chance I’ll get fried.

I think my hearing has already been damaged by working in restaurants much of my adult life. So. loud. What did you say?

Also related to working in a restaurant, you eat standing up, you eat very quickly so your food is not sitting around unattended, scrape your plate into the nearby garbage and toss the dish in the dishwasher…sort of shock when you find yourself doing it at HOME. Old habits. Haha!

I take Advil or a prescription anti-inflammatory fairly often. I don’t know of any other way to get my joints and connective tissue to quiet down. I have some arthritis, and it’s normal for me to be sore and achy.

16 and #20 "Not letting things go" and "dwelling on things." Geez, that's the story of my life.

38 "Staying totally out of the sun"? Hoo boy. I run the Bay sans shirt the past couple of Sundays. And now that my gym is outside, I certainly take my shirt off during HIIT's and such. I need to buy some sunblock, no doubt.

Congrats to MOWC!

@deb922 and @abasket She wants me to come back for a recheck in a few weeks. i had never thought about if the mask contributed to it. I don’t usually wear one because I work alone and rarely shop. However I did have one on for about an hour before they took my BP
Interesting.

Pretty good morning! Thanks to T.S. Isaias, we weren’t ungodly hot! Rainy, yes. Muggy, definitely. But better. It was pouring when I got up, so I went to the gym and rode the bike for 60 min. I found that I can ride it with a mask and be fine. Maybe 12-15 people on the floor. Went home and did back-bis circuit video. Finished with some core.

light person having some challenges. Weight has been up a bit. Still active, eating a bit more higher calorie things. I guess a holding pattern is not the worst thing, but I really need to drop the last few pounds.
