Fitness, Nutrition and Health- All Welcome (Hardcore and “Light”)

That’s cool @abasket! Good luck with it!

Took sort of a rest day today with just about a 15 minute spin on the Peleton bike to get my legs moving a little.

@illneversaynever On the whole, our county has been very good about wearing masks, even outside on trails in wide open spaces. But this one guy, doesn’t ever wear one. And I debate whether to sour our what relationship we have (gym friendly) by mentioning it to him. Or even mentioning it to the owners. Otherwise, the other 99% of the members are compliant.

I haven’t had a complete day off in a couple weeks, so I’m sitting on the couch debating whether to hit the trail and run today.

For me, the Nespresso machine is a great perk. Not many in the gym use it though. Many of the young gym members seem to be always mixing and drinking colored water, which have “pre-workout” mixes in them. And then there’s the requisite sniffing of these ammonia packets before a big lift. But that’s another matter.

Maybe @Midwest67 should start sniffing ammonia to improve her power numbers. I’m kidding.

?

No ammonia packets for me!

I do like to drink the leftover coffee in the pot with whey & dextrose, sometimes with Diet A&W mixed in.

No judgement! …until you’ve tried it, haha!

No judgment from me … because I will never try that!

My walking plan for the day got overtaken by events (MLS playoff game that went to a shootout)

Today I just barely managed to get in a run before sunset (ha, which happen now around 4:30pm). It is nice when a run is a bit cooler at the end (46 → 43), but I was still a bit warm for the last part As seasons change, it takes me a while to get in the groove for being dressed right… especially since wind will make thing Cold (rather than just annoying in summer).

Just did housework and a 4.5 mile walk today.

Catching up on my week:
Monday-3 mile wakl
Tuesday= 90 minutes of soccer
Wedneday 3 miile walk int the AM and 2 miles around dinner
Thursday=3.9 mile walk
Friday: just over 2 hours of soccer (8.8K steps)

I knew the pool would be closed Thursday and Friday so I reserved extra time on Wednesday. Usually my yardage is 1600-1700 yards, but Wednesday I swam 3000 yards. I was very happy with that and was especially pleased that I wasn’t completely exhausted when I was done. Did the stationary bike today and tomorrow I’ll be back at the pool. Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving.

Test!

I hope everyone had a nice relaxing holiday!

I had a PR squat Weds. of 182.5 # for three sets of two. Second set was a little wobbly, but the others were good efforts.

Dreading the heavy DLs and volume squats tomorrow!

I think I’ll have a beer to quiet my trepidation!

I’m just seeing if I can figure out how to even post now that everything has changed. Did my normal running/walking/TRX stuff this week. Ate a lot yesterday, but didn’t miss any days of exercise, so that’s OK.

I tried to bookmark this thread, but the bookmark brings me to the very first post in the thread, by MOWC.

This is like driving a rental car which is very very different from your regular car and you cannot even figure out how to turn the lights on!

I could have run 10 miles in the time I’ve tried to figure out this new look today!

Just seeing what happens.
I’ve been off since Tuesday and exercising every day.

I’m going to attempt to post something. Oof. I thought the last change took some getting used to.

I fished the Work last week. This week is “off.” Not really, but taking it easier than usual and not lifting. I have been doing my cardio and abs and some stretching/mobility work.

The kids have been home for the week. They leave tomorrow. But we shall go hiking today. Shall I attempt an emoji? :grinning:

steady state for me, which is good. Glad to have the week off and scaled down Tday prep. I had one day without activity but others I did walk or something else. Moderated food intake, weight steady.

Good Morning! Ran a good 5K on Thanksgiving (not my PR but pretty close), then 6 solo miles yesterday and 6.5 with 2 of my friends this morning. Supported Small Business Saturday by renewing my annual unlimited yoga pass (it’s a small locally owned studio). I hope to practice even more often after my January retirement.

Hardest day of the cycle over.

Deadlifts 232.5 x 2 x 3 (so. heavy.)

Then Squats 152.5 x 5 x FIVE SETS. Almost failed the last rep of the last set.

Planning to hike tomorrow in WI where deer hunting (gun) is not allowed. It will be good to get out of the house. Our oldest kid was here for a full week, and we miss her terribly already.
