Hi,
I have an inquiry that I'm kind of worried about. Say a student is sitting for CIE A-Levels in November this year. The results come out mid or late January, but the deadline for "all application materials" for most of the american universities I know of (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc.) is around 1 January.

How does a student tackle this? Does anyone have past experience?

If one sends predicted grades, can you still send your results when they come out (after the deadline)? and will admissions commitees consider them?

you normally use your predicted results to apply. the schools then may or may not ask you for your actual A level results. even if they don’t, you’ll have to send them in if you want credits…

if they’re good enough, why not ? but generally, most people do better in the actual A levels, rather than the prelims (which is what is used for predicted grades). of course, there are those who get straight As throughout, so its really subjective.

That’s the point - Zawanu - even actualy IB results wouldn’t be released by then. It will be your As Levels and your predicted A Level results that will count towards admissions, so by the time your real A Level results are released you are already in American university - so it doesn’t matter!

decisions come out in march, but most (good) schools have december deadlines. so you’ll have to apply using your predicted/prelim grades, or apply for a later starting term.

you can submit your actual A level results later on if you want credit exemption.

ok but if the results of AS are not that good and then if you retake in november and u get a good grade then? can it make a difference if send in time before the decision.
