Fitting EC in the little space on the application...

I have an extracurricular for which it's near-impossible to describe the level of my involvement in the tiny space most applications give. I'm not planning on using it for the "favorite EC" essay because, to be honest, it's not my favorite thing in the world to do.

There's a group called the Student Historic Preservation Team at my local middle school. Basically it's a group of students working to preserve old buildings in my city. I was a member back then, but I'm more involved now because it really takes a few older minds to do most of the work. I write/edit the newsletter along with a friend of mine, created and manage their website (it's rather mediocre, but admissions does not need to know that! lol), have given speeches for city officials about the nature of our work, teach the kids public speaking skills for when they speak in front of city officials, and supervise meetings. (Yes, there are tense changes all over that sentence, but whatever) I don't have a specific title so I'm not sure how to go about putting it on the application. Can anyone help me?

I hear a lot of people are sending in separate, physical resumes; however, I think colleges don't really want that, otherwise they would've asked. It sounds like you are a "leader" even if you haven't been designated such a title, but from what you say, the SHPT would probably consider you one. No one ever said leaders had to be elected, and although you are the "leader", there still can be other leaders on your team. Much different from saying you're President or ummm LadyinRed the Dominator!!!! or you know... something.
