So my biggest goal has always been to go to Harvard Law after I graduate, but I don’t know which path for undergrad college would be better to take. My FAFSA pays for everything for both FIU and FSU. I live half an hour away from FIU so i could commute instead of live in a dorm (and coming from hispanic parents, it’s the more preferable one emotionally speaking). However, I am told FSU is better education wise and people from FSU have gotten accepted into Harvard Law previously, according to a statistic I saw on Harvard’s website. My question is, should I stand out at FIU by being in the Honors college or should I go to FSU as it is more accredited and knowing Harvard has accepted applicants from there. Personally, I would feel happier at FIU because I would be surrounded by family and friends, but if it is more beneficial to go to FSU with the knowledge that I would not have to pay for anything, then I would do it if it meant my goal could be fulfilled.
It is unlikely that either college would have a different result on applications to top law schools.
Wherever you can get the highest GPA and spend the least money, since law school admission is mostly based on GPA and LSAT, and law school is very expensive, and where you will be satisfied attending and graduating from whether or not you go to law school.
FIU appears to be mostly commuter-based (75% of frosh do not live on campus). So it is less likely that commuting there would be particularly disadvantageous like at a mainly residential college.
