<p>I want to major in business computer information systems with an emphasis on ecommerce. I know they are not popular schools but they are my options.</p>

<p>Hofstra definitely. While it is neither the greatest nor most prestigious school in the world, it beats FIU any day.</p>
<p>Hofstra has come a long way, and continues to become a better school. For business it is actually ranked 120th for undergraduate business programs. That is really pretty good.</p>
<p>I agree about Hofstra. It certainly isn't top-tier, but it's much better and more well-known that FIU. Also, while the area directly around campus isn't the best, you are near NYC and there are also nicer parts of Long Island nearby.</p>

<p>Although Hofstra isnt amazing, it is very strong in quite a few areas such as economics, math and communications. Considering that you are only 45 minutes from downtown Manhattan, you will have no trouble getting internships if you desire to have one. </p>
<p>So basicially, Id definitely go to Hofstra over FIU.</p>
<p>Heavenwood, Yes, 120 is still good. Just to give some perspective: University of Miami is 85, Lehigh is 90, Villanova is 104, Washington and Lee is 115 for business. Hofstra has not enjoyed a great reputation in the past, and many people still think of it the same way. It is not the school that it was 20 years ago and continues to improve itself.</p>
<p>I am an international student and i didnt get aid from any so i am looking to go to the cheaper school. also my current boss offered me a job at the miami office he has but fiu says freshmen arent allowed to work off campus. As you see I am in a sticky situation.</p>
