Would like to hear from anyone with insights about Five Towns College which I just learned about today. They have a composition/songwriting major which may work for my son yet I know nothing about this school. They appear to require an immediate decision if accepted which seems similar to early admission regardless of when you apply. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Five Towns is a suburban Long Island school with a reputation for being very industry-oriented–mainly being strongest in technology and recording arts. I would not say that it has a reputation for great musicianship. If they have a binding admissions policy, I would want to visit and really get a feel for the place before applying. Student life there is also not highly touted. It is mainly a commuter school.

They still had openings in the music programs in September of this year which is not at all usual in a school with really good programs.
