I posted this in another thread, but I was wondering if anyone knows if ND has any type of Fixed Rate Tuition. An awful lot of colleges are doing this right now--and since the cost of tuition seems to be rising each year, I just wondered if this type of plan existed at Notre Dame. Fixed Rate meaning that you pay the same amount of tuition for the entire 4 years of attendance as when you first enrolled; rates do not raise each year.

I no GW has that but they have to pay 37k for tutition so if u think about it u are not getting that much out of it, because they charge u a bit more in order to cover for the rest of the four years. In a way with that plan u probably end up paying the same amount.

I beg to differ--Ga. Tech just intituted this plan in spring 2006==I don't think they are charging extra to make up for it! There are a lot of schools that are instituting this type of program, I'm just unclear about how it works and if ND has this type of program.

In that case, then the incoming year suffers because if the university out did their budget the previous year then all the weight will be on the incoming freshman. In my opinion, this plan is a lose lose plan. People have to realize that no one wants to increase the cost of college education but. colleges have to raise tuition because they needed to maintain their budget. With that being said, how do u think colleges will finance their cost through this plan? The way i see it is that they either charge extra so that the fix rate would some what cover the cost of educating students for four years or they overburden the incoming freshmen.
