Fixing stupid mistakes

After a number of practice ACT's I have realized that the only thing weighing my score down is careless mistakes that I make in each and every section. I find my self dropping 2-3 points in each section because of this. Considering that the next ACT is on this Saturday, and that I wont be taking it ever again, is there anything that I can do to prevent this from happening on the actual?

How quickly have you been going through the sections? I think the best thing that you can do is to pace yourself. Don’t go too slow, but by the same token, don’t go too fast, or you’re going to end up with a lot of careless errors. If possible, take a few minutes at the end of each section to review your answers. As you’re taking the test, mark questions that you’re unsure about in your book and come back to look at those again at the end. Really, as far as careless mistakes go, you have to be in the right state of mind in order to a) not make them in the first place and/or b) be able to catch them. Get enough sleep before the test, and I’m sure you’ll be fine. :)
