Essays: Hopefully unique. First about the influence of comedy on my life. Second is about poverty, a global issue I find important, and my ideal solution, microloans.

Interview: Went really well. I had it about a month ago, and my interviewer was really young and sweet. We went to Panera and just chatted about our lives and she told me a lot of great things about Georgetown. At the end, she said that she thought I was the kind of student that they look for in admissions :D (!!)

Hooks: Moved from NJ to FL sophomore year, low income family, Catholic school student, interesting essays.

Other schools:
Yale, Princeton, GWU, Lafayette, Loyola Maryland.

Thanks in advance! :)

Also, would anyone happen to have any information on their financial aid? I've heard different things - that it sucks, that it's excellent, blah blah. It's probably going to be a major factor, if I'm accepted and I don't get enough financial aid, I probably won't be able to go :/

You have impressive credentials and are a strong candidate.
I would say better than a 50% chance. How much better is tough to say, but you really have a great shot.
Good luck!

Wow, thank you! I really hope my chances are that good, I would love love love to go to Georgetown :)

I would say a very good chance as well, your essays seem varied and interesting, the one on comedy I’m sure has been a good read for some admission officers. Additionally, the fact that you attend a Catholic school will likely help as well, as the Jesuit adage cura personalis plays a role in determining the character of an applicant and how he/she will fit in at Georgetown. But, admission to the SFS is always ultra-competitive so it is hard to say, but your stats will undoubtedly give you a fighting chance.

Also, if you wouldn’t mind, I’m looking for some feedback/chances on my application as well…I applied to the FLL as a Linguistics major, but I feel as if I’m left in the dark with the whole admissions process! I can’t find any stats about the acceptance rates of the FLL so any comments are welcome
