FL Residency

Not sure where on this confusing algebraic website this post goes, so move it if necessary...

So how do I get Florida residency when I am from Michigan and attending a junior college in NM? I don't want to take any time off from school as in: move to FL, rent a place, get a job, work for a year then re-apply because I will have the financial aid people wanting money if I don't keep attending. I plan to live in Florida the rest of my life. I wanted to go to FSU or U of FL but not at the out of state rate. I have been living here off and on for the last ten years. I was in the racehorse business and I relocate to a new state about every three months, up until I returned to college last year. I have a Michigan ID card, but haven't been there in about 5 years. I guess I am out, huh?

I don’t know if this could work for you or not, but FSU has a first year abroad program wherein you spend your first year overseas at one of their locations and then you are granted instate tuition for the rest of the time back in Florida.

I can’t get a passport, but that sounds like a great idea.

??? Why can’t you get a passport?
