I am applying to the college of fine arts and want to take industrial design there. Say I am accepted and end up not liking the course. Will I be forced to take classes only from the college of fine arts? If I find a business program at their business school attractive, can I take it even though I am in the fine arts college?

you can generally always take classes in other colleges

and also you can generally double in majors offered in other colleges

if you want to switch majors and go into another college then you have to apply iirc

Thanks for the reply, what is iirc?

iirc = if i recall correctly

If you do want to switch majors, you have to apply. My understanding is that almost all transfers to H&SS are granted, but Tepper, being a small program, has a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 (or higher) and is selective among the applications you get. While you can take business classes if you're in CFA, a friend of mine who is CS and taking business classes has had trouble getting into upper division business courses because they are for only juniors and seniors. It's not an issue with the different department, but with class standing.

It's much more restrictive than most universities. During my freshman year, one of my roommates could not manage to change his degree from physics to mechanical engineering.
