My D has been invited to participate in Flexus, the Women in Engineering Living and Learning Community. Information on Flexus would be greatly appreciated. What was good about it or not so good about it.

I would say it couldn't hurt to join flexus, you can always drop it later. They have a 1 credit seminar for the first 4 semesters. Basically the classes just introduce you to the university, help you out with your engineering classes and give you a little bit of a leg up on getting lab jobs and internships. The program is housed in ellicott hall, which is between the stadium and the dining hall. I lived there freshman year (I was not in Flexus), and it's very convenient and one of the best freshman dorms available on north campus (location-wise). You can be in other living and learning programs like honors and scholars and also be in Flexus. Cons: very small community, you either like the other girls, or you don't. very new program, so they don't always know what they're doing.

Since I am not in Flexus, this is second hand information I'm getting from some of my friends who are in it.
