Flight Question

So, I'm all set on going to Blue Devil Days but the only problem is that I cant find a direct flight from BUR or LAX.... I don't know, maybe I'm using a wrong search engine.

Also, what are the transportation options to get from the airport to campus?

I think I'm going to try and get a cab or something since I'll be there by myself

There are few (if any) direct flights from the west coast. You'll likely have to stop somewhere. Regarding transportation, see if Duke is organizing any free/reduced rate shuttles or the like. Or, post on here when you're arriving so you can split a cab fare with other people. RDU taxi, the one that's kind of operated by the airport, is over 30 bucks before tip. Charlene's Safe Ride is 25 bucks before tip, but you'll have to call them and schedule a ride.

why do you need a direct flight? there aren't that many to RDU except from hub airports (i guess LAX is a hub but it's so far away).

you can always rent a car when you get here if you're thinking about driving around the area some and not staying on campus your whole visit.

Well you're going to have to be 25 to get a rental car, so if you are going alone, that is out of the picture. I would just do any flight you can get from LAX through Charlotte or Atlanta to get to RDU. Most of the time a transfer flight is just as cheap or a little bit cheaper than a direct.
