are you on the administrative staff of Annapolis?

our argument is, more-or-less, falling on deaf ears

Please read my posts before you comment. It has to be my concern since misleading and incorrect statements are being made concerning pilot training opportunities.

Actually, as a BGO, I am considered to be on the admissions staff.

I could not care less what current or past students at KP think. My goal is that no prospective candidate wanting to be a Naval Aviator enter this website and be led astray by false information. Yes, it is 'a crying shame' that some would forego this to protect their fragile egos.

sir,
i have read your posts, and all i've seen is it make people upset.
i have no beef with you, i want to make that known. however, i am a bit irritated at the selective (meaning not including the entire word) quotations of my statements. the falsehood that you're claiming is more than slightly embellished. the way that statement was intended was to say that there's less competition per slot here, as not all people want to fly for the Navy, some do coast guard, some do army, etc... or many people don't want to fly at all.

we appreciate you wanting to make the facts known. that's always welcome. however, the way you go about it seems to undermine your intentions. and besides, at this point in the year, most have already turned in their acceptance of their appointments, so there's no need to continue this.

sir, i wish you the very best, as well as the very best for your Annapolis candidates, Mids, Alum, etc... even though i'm not at USNA, i'm still a Mid, and in the end, we're all on the same team, let's try not to forget that.

I guess you are saying that your classmates that have an interest in an aviation career have been able to follow that path. In either the Navy,AF, CG, or Army. That what it seems to me you are implying is2day4him

it is what i'm implying. :)
the main factor that drops people's interest (aside from eye sight problems, etc...) is when they go out to sea. i've seen a lot of kids that thought they wanted to fly change their minds and decide to sail. i'm not saying that if you want to fly you're a shoo-in, what i'm saying is that if you want it and work hard to get it, you can. you have to do well in school to be competitive, but that's up to you.

the best way to help your case is to do a flight internship. those get your name out into the aviation circles, and it looks good on an application. if you want it, go for it. just be prepared to change your mind a few times. even if you want to fly at the end of it all, for your own sake, consider every option. there's sooo many great things you can do when you're done with this place, there's no need to box yourself in too early.
good luck

I am a KP grad and a Captain in the United States Navy and can with considerable experience state that Annapolis produces better naval officers than Kings point. I have been extraordinarily disappointed the the quality of Ensigns Kings Point has turned out in the past 5 years. There is a serious problem at Kings Point in the leadership department and it started with Art Athens! Absentee Commandant! Bob Allee has been cleaning up his mess for three years now and has had it with the lack of support form Stewart.
