Ok first things first I would like to thank all of you for reading this thread. I would like to know my chances for being accepted into Florida State University
SAT: 1890 (M:670 CR:560 W:660)
ACT: 29
UW GPA: 3.4091
W GPA: 4.5909
302 Community Service Hours
I also plan on running track at Florida State
I will be graduating with 7 AP classes and my senior schedule will be listed below.

AP Government 1st Semester Economics 2nd Semester
AP Calculus AB
Health 1st Semester Speech 2nd Semester
AP Environmental Science
English IV
Track and Field 2nd Semester

Also, I live in Texas and I am African American

I am also in National Honor Society

Better than me I have like a 3.7 unweighted GPA and subpar average SAT scores. No community service only sports (track all years)

Hey there Nole2015.
First thing’s first, (as I’m sure you’re already aware), out-of-state students pay “a little” more than usual at Florida public universities but the fact that you’re looking into it shows that you probably found that out-of-state tuition waiver (or partial waiver).
Your aren’t in a bad spot at all, and people have gotten in with similar stats! If you can get that SAT score to 1950 or above, you could almost settle the deal! If you’re not able to though, you still stand a good chance. I recommend checking out the Fall 2014 term thread. You can see the stats of the people who were accepted and rejected.

Good luck! Even though I’m applying mainly for UF, if I get rejected then FSU would be my 2nd choice certainly (I know they hate hearing that but… I’m going Computer Engineering so… )

@AGoodFloridian Thank You!

Looks like a match! Try to improve your SAT, as that would help with the OOS tuition waiver. Also, don’t forget the early (first) application deadline of 10/15/14.

<a href=“FSU Admissions | Error 404 page not found”>http://admissions.fsu.edu/freshman/admissions/deadlines.cfm

Good Luck!

@AGoodFloridian If you’re looking into Computer Engineering, then take a look at UCF and USF as back-ups to UF. Both have better Computer Engineering programs than FSU, and unlike UF, may offer you a merit scholarship.
