it’s the gothics. i’ve heard they’re notorious for having silverfish and spiders. didn’t viola want to be in the gothics? if he gets in, definitely ask him if he’d swap.

it’s pretty, but i’m pretty sure eating is weird. also i don’t think you have a laundry room so you’d probably have to go into the main rose house to do that or go into another house. but at least you’re on west… poor accmajor, stuck up in north. and water, like 30 minutes away! ack… on the bright side, me and andy are a 2 minute walk away :)

true, i know where i’ll run to when i get scared of the spiders!! ACK i hate spiders. what are silverfish tho? and viola DIDNT want the gothics, hehe i did, i just dont know how i feel about being with only girls? i might go crazy, however much my boyfriend will appreciate it haha

:-/ if you don’t like spiders, you won’t like silverfish lol… google them if you dare O_O

and word, just escape to my room. or andy’s. one of them will most likely always be empty hahaha

and i seriously thought viola wanted the gothics… maybe i’m delusional. you’re only with girls? is that what lyon hall west is?

Thats gross, just looked up what it looked like in wiki.
At least you’re in west, most people would die to get a place there…

EWWW I JUST GOOGLED THEM. lol. My mom was like “OK you’re NOT living there.”

LOLOLOLOL. who knew silverfish could actually help people?

hey riceboy, we’re your future schoolmates! HI!

…i’m overly excited. i’m obsessed with/in love with cornell, don’t mind me i’m really nice, though, i promise! hehe

Gothics suck. Bad. I want a single in new buildings now.

Worst bathrooms. Sorry.

ehhhhhh id take bad bathrooms over silverfish. hehehe

haha oh wow i guess i was wrong about viola wanting to be in the gothics hahaha.

and sorry for introducing silverfish into your lives lol

Wow you guys are way overexaggerating here.

The gothics are not that bad.
I have seen maybe 1 spider here? No more than any other place you will ever live in.

Get over it. Main house rooms are in high demand. And transfers are presumptuous to think it’s their right to get one over returning students.

We’re not being obnoxious by wanting to be together on west. And from what we know, most transfers are put on west. So we’re just talking about rooms and what we’ve heard. I guess you’re lucky to have only seen one spider, cause I’ve talked to a bunch of people who said they see them all the time.

Transfers are not all in west. And i think the rumors you heard are exaggerated.
Spiders and whatnot are the least of your worries based on what I hear from the other gothics…

i lived in boldt hall last semester… i saw a bunch of spiders for sure. the first day i moved in, i saw a hugeeeeee spider web hanging in the corridor. . .

i dont know if ive seen any silverfishes, they mightve been or at least related, but they are those brown or black with white bugs with loads of legs and about 1 inch long… i HATE THOSE, the legs are so longgg!!

Nah, we know not all transfers are on west, but it’s true that a majority of them are put there. That I know because I was apart of the giant batch of fall transfers on Facebook (most of them got put into Cook, Becker, Rose, Keeton, or Bethe.) But yes, a lot of them were put in gothics, obviously because returning students blocked quite a bit for the main houses. And we definitely don’t mean to sound presumptuous, we’re just inquiring as to how each particular dorm area compares to others. Just a little insight and what to expect.

I don’t think the gothics would be that bad. The bugs are gross, but I’m sure they’re nothing to worry about. Worse comes to worse, Lacey, you’re there for 3 very cold months of the year where the bugs won’t be around, then only a little bit longer after that, so you’ll be out of there in no time should you find you really don’t like it.

Unfortunately, I really don’t like the idea of staying in Schuyler for that long. It’s just SO far away. They should give blocks of returning juniors and seniors that area (if any of those upperclassmen do block) because putting transfers that isolated from the main areas of campus seems really silly. I would rather be in a double in a gothic than be stuck in the single in Schuyler.

Is Schuyler house a nice place to live, do any of you guys know? I’ll bet no one who doesn’t live there ever goes there lol.
