Can you get the Benacquisto Award at University of Miami if you are not a national merit scholar? Florida statute says a “National Schlar” qualifies as well but doesn’t define. Student award page notes son qualifies But he wasn’t national scholar based on PSAT. He does have high GPA and 1480 SAT
As far as I know, Benacquisto is only for NMF, and now only for residents. I’d think it could be used at Miami because Miami and Embry-Riddle were two schools that were approved for Benacquisto before the change to instate only. Those schools got about $22k from Benacquisto, not full COA.
A Florida resident would get to use Bright Futures (~$7k), the resident grant (called Ease now, ~$4k), any prepaid tuition funds, and of course UMiami’s own scholarship funds, which I think they stack quite generously.
