Guys, my younger brother is interested in Florida Poly (we actually live in Winter Haven/Lakeland) so we know the local reputation around it, which isn’t much. My fear is he’ll transfer over there (we both attend Polk State College currently and he’s looking to transfer there in Fall 2018). I know the school is seeking accreditation currently and plans to have it by December of this year, but that’s only one step. It still isn’t ABET accredited for any of it’s majors because of it’s lack of regional accreditation. Does anyone know when they would expect to be ABET accredited? Can any previous alumni give me some of there opinions and advice for my brother on the school? Overall, how does it stack up against other engineering schools in the state. From there course catalog they seem to focus alot in various concentrations such as nanotech which is an interest of my brothers (as well as mine). So can you compare the school on where it will be in the next 3 years and where it is currently to other universities in Florida.
