Hi,
Im a student who's transferring to FSU. I want to move into an apartment, but it's not covered under the dormitory plan for Florida prepaid. Is it possible for me to use the tuition portion of Florida Prepaid and get a refund for the Dormitory portion?

Is the tuition portion larger than the tuition/fees?

Look for an apartment in Heritage Grove. It participates in Florida Prepaid. If you do not use the dorm portion of prepaid, you get back ONLY what you paid into it originally, with no interest. It won’t be much.

Heritage Grove is partly owned by FSU, and they will bill Florida Prepaid. It will not cover the entire amount, but doing it that way it will be worth WAY MORE than taking a refund.

Tuiition and dorm are separate, so you can use one and not the other. But it really makes sense to look into Heritage Grove. http://www.heritage-grove.org/ It is NOT a dorm it is an apartment complex. Your utilities are separate. It is off campus, but close. You could bike, ride the FSU bus, even walk in daylight. They have a pool and clubhouse, sand volleyball/picnic area. It is a location that also houses some of the fraternities. There is lots of parking. The lease is by the bed, typical of much of the student housing around FSU. You can sign up with your own roommates, or you can use the roommate matching service
