Florida State Decision 4-Results

I agree with cybermom. i hope lindsey has a great time at UCF,and ray i hope you dont leave us we enjoyed having you around. And if for any reason she decides to transfer i'm sure she will be welcomed at FSU, maybe this time for fall, just joking.

Made it into the university, but (of course) didn't make the cut for the film school... sigh well, I guess FSU is a nice enough school on its own?

It's one of the top two schools in Florida.

However, it really depends on what you want to study. What area do you want?

film :(

well... journalism, I guess... is it better or worse than Miami?

For Journalism - go to UF. FSU does not have a school of Journalism and UF has the best journalism program in Florida.

FSU's College of Communications, however, is excellent and very competitive.

UCF does have a film school...I think.

Yeah they do, from conversating with FSU-UF but It doesnt top FSU's =] I just love FSU heheh

FSU yes since I'm now addicted to you guys I'll still be reading the posts.

On on serious point, your comment is well taken. One thing I did tell Lindsey is that college students today are very mobile. No decision has to be forever as far as your major or your location is concerned. If you change your mind you can always make changes down the road.

suprise of the century: hello twin.

I am also, a film rejectee (although I got in at Chapman... it's looking very likely I won't be able to go there, that and my parents don't want me to. It ticks me off that I got into FSu with no major, everything would be perfect if I'd gotten in.)

I think you're in great company...they only take like 30 freshman kids at a time. I mean, that's more selective than med school for crying out loud.

The situation at FSU's film school could be worse, LOL. The music theatre program only takes a maximum of 12 freshmen. Some years it's less!

That's amazingly competitive.

Well, now I have to try for one of 5 film transfer spots... 5!

Wow that's tough. Good luck!

FSU college of music decisions for 2012, the status has change to decision made, receiving in mail shortly. This changed 2/28, does anyone know if mail vs. e-mail notication is good or bad; and what their definition of shortly may be. A little worried, my daughter auditioned for bfa theater program last year, and those notifications were by e-mail and/or phone

@Lmw, although my S received his FSU school of music acceptance via snail mail, the professor of his instrument also called to speak with him personally. There was no e-mail as far as the acceptance - that said, theater may operate completely differently.
