Florida vs. Emory

<p>Probably shouldn't be leaving this up to a forum but what the heck, let's give it a shot! Would greatly appreciate an opinion (posting this on both school's boards...have to reply to schools by 4/15)</p>

<p>I've been accepted to Emory's PhD IMP (imm. and mol. path) program and Florida's PhD interdisciplinary program for biomed. sciences. Finances are not a concern.</p>

<p>The research quality is better at Emory and I have family in Atlanta. However, Florida offers a better prospect for graduating and graduating faster (4 to 4.5 years versus 5.5+ for Emory). I am not looking to stay in academia and probably want to start my own biotech business or join a consulting firm.</p>

<p>This seems like a popular topic of discussion here. I’d suggest using the search function on this board for “Emory”, and one for “UF” or “Florida” on the Emory board.</p>
