Hi All
Move in day looms…and it happens to be my daughter’s 18th birthday! Can anyone recommend anyone local that will deliver a nice floral arrangement to RCS? We arrive on Thursday.

Poor kid…can you think of a better way to spend your 18th B-day than driving w/ your parents for 7 hours? LOL
Thanks so much for your help. We cannot wait for our adventure to start!

My son’s 18 th birthday is Aug 24th so I am trying to figure out what to do for him. Happy birthday a little early to your daughter!

Kjlphmom - I just ordered cookies from Mary’s Cakes…they were so helpful and nice. I called three places before them and some do not deliver to campus and one wanted to charge $18 and they were in Northport. They are making houndstooth and elephant cookies w/ 18th on them and their initials. Thought I’d pass this on as an idea for your son.

I still need a florist. My hubby has been sending flowers to each of the our girls for every birthday and he does not want to miss this one.

Thanks for the info…I am going to steal your idea as it sounds great. Thanks for sharing it with me. I hope someone shares the florist info with you. What a wonderful tradition your family has!

Just wanted to add to this thread for those who don’t know – you can also order a cake or cookie cake through Bama Dining. The student picks up the cake at Lakeside Dining. I ordered a cookie cake for my daughter last year and she said it was huge – a big hit with her and her friends.

[Welcome to CampusDish at The University of Alabama!](http://www.campusdish.com/en-US/CSS/Alabama/ProductList.aspx?Catalog=AlabamaVirtualCatalog&CategoryId=4&)

buzymom – I don’t know a florist offhand, but if you search Ahpimommy’s recruitment threads, I know that she has provided the name of a florist that she likes for bid day flowers – so presumably the same florist would deliver to the dorms.

When my son turned 18 his freshman year, we ordered a small specialty cake from Publix, paid by credit card over the phone, then son stopped in to pick it up. The Bama Dining cake would have been too large for what he needed. He said the bakery cake was pretty good!

My 18th will be the 23rd! Glad I’m not the only one celebrating with an entirely new family :)
